Google Chrome is my go-to browser for all of my teaching needs. What I love about Google Chrome is how customizable it has become with all of the different extensions available. Scroll down to read my favourite Google Chrome Extensions for teachers!
With Screencastify you can record your lessons, or use Screencastify Submit to have your students submit videos. This is great if you are doing reading assessments with your students during distance learning!
The Mote extension allows you to use voice notes to provide your students with feedback on Google Classroom, Google Docs and Google Slides. This is a huge time saver when you are marking! Another teacher actually showed this one to me, and it completely changed my digital marking game.
GOOGLE READ & WRITE
Google Read & Write allows your students to listen to any text as well as click on the words to see definitions and synonyms. It includes so many languages (French too!) and makes distance learning a lot easier for your students.
If you struggle with spelling because you're too busy typing out all of your amazing lessons, raise your hand! 🙋🏻♀️ Grammarly will check your grammar & spelling for you as you type, so no more pesky mistakes in those work emails either!
Momentum adds an element of inspiration to your Google Chrome browser when you open a new tab! Add your name for extra personalization, and each time you open a new tab you will be greeted by a positive message and a beautiful photo too!
GOOGLE MEET GRID VIEW
If you are using Google Meet and have more than 16 students, the Google Meet Grid View extension will allow you to see ALL of your students at the same time!
There is nothing worse than having piles of sticky notes everywhere and feeling totally disorganized. The Google Keep extension will help you stay organized and keep track of your tasks directly in your browser! You can also CLICK HERE to download my free French Google Keep Headers to help you stay organized!
This Emoji Keyboard extension is the BEST when it comes to spicing up your Google Classroom. Add Emojis to topics and assignments while keeping your students organized and engaged too.
GIPHY for Google Chrome is another fun extension that will allow you to insert GIFs and stickers right into your documents. My junior students are a big fan of this one!
